Beautiful lobby at The Waldoboro Inn

Located in midcoast Maine, The Waldoboro Inn is an Italianate mansion built in 1880 by Captain John B. Stahl, an illustrious ship captain who sailed the coast bringing timber, granite and ice to ports south.

Once a bustling shipbuilding center, the town of Waldoboro was known for the five-masted schooner and now has a vibrant farming community and some of the best clam flats in the state of Maine.

Designed to engage our guests, the rooms are carefully curated with contemporary art and unique furnishings.

The character and ambiance of this historic 19th-century inn inspires one to stay awhile. The three large bedrooms in the original mansion feature queen-beds, en-suite baths and air-conditioning. All of the rooms are light-filled and airy, looking out on gardens that have been lovingly maintained over many years.

The inn is steps away from Perch Café and the Town Landing, where many of Captain Stahl’s schooners were launched. We are a short drive to Odd Alewives Brewing, Tops'l Farm and the Maine classic, Moody’s Diner. We are right next door to The Waldo Theatre, now a venue for some of the best entertainment on the coast of Maine.
